Rock Out with the Lockout
2024 Summer Bingo Tournament
Rules & Guidance
About the Tournament
The format is, as the title implies, Lockout Bingo. For those unfamiliar, Lockout means that once a bingo tile is lit by one player, the other player cannot light it. There are two ways to win in the FFR Lockout format:
As per these goals, going into ToFR is not required, but is certainly a gamble players could make to try and secure the win once they have their line. Competition, and gambles, are key to this tournament.
Important Dates:
Tournament Structure:
Due to the format of this year's race (Lockout, see below), there will not be any seeding races or last chance qualifiers. The bracket size will be determined by the number of participants, and all players (save one) will be randomly seeded.
The one exception would be last years Bingo Tournament winner, who will get an automatic top #1 seed in the tournament.
Bracket tracking will be done via Challonge.
Lockout Rules
As noted, the game being played is Lockout. Lockout Bingo means that once a tile is lit by one player, their opponent cannot light it. This can lead to boards where, due to layout and tiles, full bingo lines may not be available. To account for this, there are two ways to win in this tournament:
Note that you cannot go to defeat Chaos (and finish up your run) until you have lit your bingo line. Chaos can only be fought after a bingo is achieved.

FAQs
Q: Why won’t there be a delay for the event?
A: The players will play on a shared bingo board. They will already get some “meta” information as their opponent fills in squares, and that’s just the nature of the game. Beyond that, because the board fills in real time, a delay would mean that we would be ten or fifteen minutes behind the board getting filled in, which would be bad for streaming. For the sake of the event, and how bingo games are normally played, we are waving the standard delay for this event.
-----
Q: What color choices are available for the Bingo board?
A: There are lots in ADR’s new bingo room.

The 2023 and 2024 Summer Marathons featured only single big bingo races, not a full tournament, and as such did not have rules and guidance sheets.
