SpeedGaming Summer Series
2026 Online Event
Rules & Guidance
Welcome to the 2026 SpeedGaming Summer Series, an online event acting as a prelude to SpeedGaming Live. Final Fantasy Randomizer has been invited to participate in this new online series this year, and we will be coordinating a brief mini-tournament as part of the event. This tournament is hosted by SpeedGaming, and while FFR is assisting with the running and overseeing of the event, do note that this is first and foremost SpeedGaming's tournament. It's a great outreach event for FFR, and a great way for us to show off the Randomizer to a wider audience.
The Summer Series FFR event is a for-cash tournament. A $200 prize pool will be split among the top two (2) players. No money is required for entry, and any FFR player is welcome to join and be part of the event.
Please make sure to read the FFR General Rules & Guidance for Tournaments and Leagues, as well as these rules, before participating.
Note: This mini-tournament will be run in addition to FFR's normal attendance at SpeedGaming Live.
Tournament Structure:
The tournament will consist of two stages:
The async races will be opened on Wednesdays and will remain open for a week. These will be group races with scores in the races being calculated based on the top score, with all other players getting points based on that top score. Lowest score is best. Any FFR player can participate, no registration is required, and all runs submitted on the FFR Summer Series Async Qualifiers Form will be counted.
Please note that players need to run at least three races to qualify. Their top three race scores will be counted, with their average score from their top three finishes determining their seeding. See the FFR General Rules & Guidance for Tournaments and Leagues for a full explanation of FFR's standard async group race scoring.
The top eight players from qualifiers will move on to brackets. Bracket matches will be best-of-one, head-to-head races. Winners move on in the upper bracket, losers head to the lower bracket. Two losses eliminates you from the tournament. Note, though, that finals for the tournament will be a best-of-three match and the Winner of the upper bracket will not get any bonus going into finals.
Note that the mini-tournament is a weekend event. All bracket matches must be completed within the weekend time alloted (Thursday through Sunday).

Participation:
Any FFR player may participate in this tournament. Interested players need to join the FFR Discord No registration is required, players just have to participate in three asyncs to potentially qualify for the brackets.
