2019 Platypus Invitational
Rules and Guidance
With a crew of @platypus racers set and ready to quack, we'll run an annual Platypus Invitational. This is the last step in graduation for our senior ducks. The races are harder and the competition is fierce, so be ready for a fight for last platypus standing.
The Platypus Invitational will be run in November each year and all participants will be graduated out of @platypus status once the tournament is over. As with teh Duckling Derby, the Platypus Invitational will be a four week, four race tournament with a practice held on Tuesday and the race officially commencing the following Monday. Scores are the same (15 for 1st, 12 for 2nd, 9 for 3rd, and then on down to 1 point for 12th place), with a cumulative score deciding our winner.
Winner of the tournament will gain the title of @platypus_premiere, and the top three finishers will get special prizes.
Schedule
Our races will be held every Monday at 9:30 PM EDT from 10/28-11/18 on the SG family of networks.

Points
As noted above, points are scored based on placement in each race, for a total cumulative score to determine the overall winner. In each race, though, there is a chance for a statistical tie (two runners coming in within 0.2 seconds of each other). In the case of a statistical tie, placement points will be awarded to both players, and the next place down will be dropped.
As an example, say two runners both come within 0.2 seconds of each other for 3rd place. Both would be awarded 3rd in that race (for 9 points each), and 4th place would be dropped (so whoever came in next would get 5th place and 7 points).
The point system is as follows
In Case of a Total Score Tie
After four races, if there is a tie for 1st place overall, we have the option to run a tie-breaker match. If the tie occurs in the Duckling Derby, we will simply move on to a Platypus-level race between those members that tied to determine final winner. In the case of a tie at the Platypus level, though, we ill run the Tri-State Turnpike:
