2023 Ladder Tournament: Season 1
Rules & Guidance
Mission:
To mix weekly races with IronGol to have regular individual competitive matches while major tournaments are not in session that do not require full participation Goal: 12+ players racing in at least 6 races.
Format:
The season will consist of 10 groups races to seed racers into groups of around 4, 1 finals race per division.
Race Scoring:
The winner of each week will receive 25 points. Everyone else will receive points based on their time back from the leader. 1 point equals 2 minutes and fractional points are figured to the second. The minimum points awarded will be 10 to all who finish. Those who forfeit will receive 5 points.
Total Scoring:
The final scores will be tabulated from each racer’s best 6 finishes. Racers will be divided into divisions based on these results. Ties are friendly.
Schedule:
The 10 races will take place on the following dates and times (all in EDT):
- June 16th: Summer Marathon Schedule
- June 21st: 8pm
- June 26th: 9pm
- July 1st: 10pm
- July 6th: 8pm
- July 11th: 9pm
- July 16th: 10pm
- July 21st: 8pm
- July 26th: 9pm
- July 31st: 10pm
Flagsets:
5 flagsets will be used and placed twice on a wheel. June 11th will have the first wheel spin to pick the June 16th flagset. After each race, the wheel will be spun again to decide the next race. All flagsets will be used twice and there won’t be much intrigue on the July 26th spin.
Finals:
Each division will have 4-6 racers and each division will have a finals race to determine the champion of that division. 4th place will pick a flagset from the 5 to ban. 3rd, 2nd, and 1st will ban in that order until 1 flagset is left which will be used for this race.
