For 2025 and 2026 FFR will be implementing a new leaderboard. The leaderboard will take into account placement and participation during the year, from the Duck Derby at the start of the year, and continuing through the Crossover AP tournament at the end of the year. This gives us the raw data to rank all the players.

Scoring for the pickup race leaderboard will be treated like a “side” tournament on the sheet.
How the Leaderboard Works:
Before each tournament with seeded placement the tournament admins will check the Racetime.gg board at a specifically listed cut-off date and will then score the pickup races column on the sheet based on current placement on the Racetime board at that time.
The scores for all finished tournaments for the year are then totaled. Highest score will get the highest place on the leaderboard, with any ties being determined by position in the most recent event a player previously played in. For example, if Cloud and Tifa both play in League, and Tifa gets a higher position there, they would outrank Cloud even if they have a similar cumulative total after the event ends.
Please note that when scoring Co-Op, the points awarded will go to both team members, and the next rank will be two positions lower. So one team would get 1st place for both members, the next would get 3rd place for both members, and so on.
League will be scored similarly to Co-Op (i.e. winning team gets 1st points, next team gets 3rd points, etc.), even though there are four members on the team. That way there is a fairer distribution of points, but one team doesn't get all the 1st place points and then the next team gets 5th place points.
Starting with Fall Tournament 2026, additional points are awarded for volunteering in the broadcasting booth for races. This is to encourage volunteering and engagement. Whether you restream, commentate, or track, you will get one (1) point for volunteering (although even if you do multiple roles in a race you will only get one point). These points are assigned once the event is over and all races are run. Please note, though, that live events (like the Marathon or SGLive) will not have points assigned as those are events where it's more difficulty for all players to attend. Also, any event where volunteering is already incentivized (such as team points in League) will not get volunteering points on the leaderboard (no double-dipping).
Scores last from the start of the year (January 1) to the end of the year (December 31). At the end of the year, the leaderboard points are totaled one last time, and then the leaderboard is locked for that year. Points will be wiped for the next year leaderboard and the process begins anew. Points are wiped each year to ensure that players cannot amass a bunch of points and sit at the top of the leaderboard for years to come.
Please note that the leaderboard is simply a “for fun” activity to encourage engagement and hopefully incentivize participation. No other bonus will be applied. It does not get any player special considerations, nor does it make them more likely to be chosen for any kind of place of power or optimal reward. Although there is a thought that the leaderboard, long term, could be used in place of qualifiers for events, we are not planning to do that in 2026.
