- About 10 minutes before the race starts you will get a message from the SG bot (if there is a race running late on the SG channel you'll be on your invite will be a little late but don't worry, you'll get it). In the message will also be a link to the race tracker. Open the link and then join the SG discord.
- In the discord will be everyone on crew for the race. That is where to put your notes along with talking/asking questions amongst the crew during the race. There are two voice channels. Set Up is where everyone will be before the race and Live is how you'll watch the race and listen to commentary (make sure your mic is muted at all times once the race starts).
- The tracker isn't too difficult to use, just takes some getting used to. You simply click the listed items as they are found and orbs as they are lit for each player. Also, if a player wipes, you have to unclick anything they just lost. When a player defeats Chaos you have to click "done" under their name on the bottom of the tracker. It not only declares them as the winner but it sends them an invite and let's them join the race discord to chat with commentary. Same if someone forfeits. At the end of the broadcast there is a "episode finished" button. This completely ends the broadcast and exits everyone from the SG discord. Only click it once the commentators have signed off and everything is done.
- Make sure you have the race crew role (can add it in role request). Having it allows you to access the broadcast channels and voice chats you'll be using.
- At least 10-15 minutes before the race you'll join the broadcast booth voice channel with the restreamer, commentators. The restreamer will restream directly in VC for the commentators and tracker to watch to avoid the delay of watching the race on Twitch. Make sure your mic is muted once the race starts.
- The person restreaming the race will send you a link to the tracker you'll use. When you open it click on the button at the top that says "Simplified View" and it will switch the layout to one that's much easier to use. You simply click on the items for each player as they are found. Keep in mind though that if a person wipes/loses an item after receiving an item make sure you unclick it until they have it again.
- The broadcast team notes channel you are assigned to is where your notes will go.
- Notes are always dependent on the flags you'll be tracking. The most important thing to take notes on is key items. Basically it's making note of where things come from as they are found, for example
King - lute
Sara - crown
Bikke - canoe
Astos - herb
Prince - floater
- Taking notes on magic (and other info) can be done once you're comfortable doing so. Here's an easy format for taking notes on magic, which you can edit as the race goes on.
