When using the relocate chests flags, chests are relocated among groups of floors.
Chests only appear in rooms. Chests can be placed in any room that has a door. When chests are relocated, it de-duplicates linked chests.
Trap tiles are also relocated. 5% of the time they will be placed on the door to the room, otherwise they are placed adjacent to a chest. When placing a trap tile, 50% of the time the trap tile will be placed below the chest, and 16.66% to be placed either right, left, or above.
The randomizer tests the chest placement to ensure that all chests are accessible. This occasionally results in seed generation failures. The volcano is notably difficult because the armory floor has many narrow corridors.
The randomizer does not guarantee that all trap tiles are accessible.
If a dungeon is set to have vanilla location incentive, the key item chest will not be moved. Other chests will be moved.
Here are the groups of rooms:
If Coneria castle (locked) incentive is set, then the chests in the treasure rooms are not relocated. Chests from other maps could still get moved to Coneria Castle.
If marsh (locked) incentive is set, the chests in the locked rooms are not relocated.
Chests can appear in the very first room with the throne used to enter the maze, as well as the room in the 4-pillar area.
This is the tower floors only, before the teleport requiring the CUBE
This doesn't include the Chaos room, so short ToFR is unaffected.
If “random incentive at location before/after rod plate” is set
Otherwise all 5 floor are together
If “random incentive at location deep/shallow" is set
Otherwise all 5 floor are together
If “mermaid prison” is set, then floors are separate
Otherwise all 5 floors are together.
