Spring Bootcamp 2024: Flags and Videos
Week 0: Introduction to FFR
090: Vanilla-ish-ish A basic introduction to the game. The flags follow vanilla progression, but we have included the standard “quick play” improvements from the randomizer. Flags also introduce a few minor randomization optimizations to keep the game moving quickly and smoothly. Experience Scaling: Experience and Gold has been set to 2.5x Vanilla amounts, with a bonus 150 pts for each monster killed in battle. Class Improvements: Blursed classes are set to 1 Bonus, 0 Maluses. Check your bonuses on the character select screen by pressing “Select”. This will show you the one extra bonus each character will get. We've also turned off Unrunnables, and with the Thief's fixed Luck (in comparison to Vanilla), along with doubled Thief (and Ninja) Hit% growth, makes the Thief a more viable character. White Mage HARM, which makes HARM a damaging spell against all enemies (and not just the undead) when used by a White Mage, has also been turned on. Shuffled Spells: Magic in shops has been shuffled, ideally so that later game magic shows up earlier, making the early game easy to navigate. Blursed Weapons: Weapons have been set with a -3 to +5 range. When treasure is revealed in chests, the Damage, Hit%, and Crit will be shown. You can also check the stats on any weapon or piece of armor in the Equip menu by pressing “Select”.	Class 090 (YouTube)

Week 1: Melee Week
101: Fighter Class The fighter is a generalist melee with a broad ability to use equipment, great survivability, and good damage. Forced Fighter, No Black Belts allowed: You will have 3 character slots to fill with your choosing of non-BB characters. Common configurations include: Th/RM/BM, Th/WM/BM, RM/WM/BM, WM/BM/BM. Incentivized Locations: Key items and gear can be found in Ice Cave, Ordeals, Marsh Cave, Titan’s Trove, Earth Cave, Volcano, and Sky Palace. In addition, all Main and Fetch NPCs will have key items and gear. You can use the help box next to each location to see more information. Flags remain on v4.7.9 so that posted seeds continue to function.	201: Ninja Class The Ninja has been greatly improved by the randomizer, making them a solid melee option. Forced Ninja: 1 Forced Starting Ninja. BB/Th/Nones are banned. Improved Ninjas: Better Thief & Ninja Agility, Thief Lockpicking (level 10). Week 2: Learning Strategy
102: BB Class It's all about the Black Belt as a melee carry. Get ready to charge up and throw hands. Forced Black Belt: You will start with a Black Belt and up to 3 additional characters of your choice. There are no restrictions on classes and you can now select None as an option to start with fewer characters. Thiqq bosses: 200-300% boss HP scaling makes for bosses that the Black Belt can shine against. Vanilla Spike Tiles: All spike tiles are in their original vanilla locations, so you can count on the agama or eye tiles being in their respective volcano and ice locations. Mid-ToFR: A shortened form of the final dungeon with less floors overall, and shortcuts on the fiend floors. Week 3: New Ways to Play
103: Floaterless We sailin’, fam. Where we're going we don't need airships. Floaterless: Sail the 7 seas…or however many this game has. There is no floater and therefore no airship. Several docks have been added to facilitate travel to required locations. Check the help boxes in the Game Mode & Overworld section for details. The overworld encounter rate has also been reduced. Random Incentive Locations: Volcano, Sea Shrine, and Ice Cave incentives are located in random boxes in those dungeons. Hint givers may provide useful information about these items by telling you the floor their located on. Patrolling WarMECH: Search on Sky 4 for the robot NPC to fight WarMECH. Everyone’s favorite robot will not appear anywhere else this seed and you can only defeat them once. Travelling Around: Free Airship (plus Airboat), Free Canoe, Free Tail. Choose Your Battles: Zero Encounters. Spike Tiles are B-Side Formations. Find Your Party: 2 Forced Party Members. Recruits Gated by Fiends and Linked to Key NPCs. Changed Up Endgame: Alternate Fiends, Alternate Final Boss, Required WarMech, Short ToFR. Week 4: A Mixed Up World
104: Entrance Shuffle The world as you know it is all changed up. The map is the same, but all those entrances will lead to different areas. You'll have to find a new path through a seemingly changed world. Entrance and Town Shuffle: Towns are towns, entrances are entrances, and it’s time to learn how to track that. There are a couple trackers available in the wiki. Random Incentives: Earth, Volcano, and Mirage/Sky have early random incentives. If you discover an entrance, the key item within is accessible without another key item. Check the help boxes next to each location for more information. Random AoE Caster Item: Because of the nature of town shuffle, sometimes it’s hard to get off the ground. You’ll have a free caster item to help with that. Generated Waterfall: Have a tiny amount of proc gen as a treat. The waterfall will be a little weird. I believe in you. Different entrances, new towers, and shards everywhere to collect. Entrance and Floor Shuffle: The world is mixed up, in more ways than one. Have a way to keep notes at the ready. Dead ends are included in the mix. Shard Hunt: 28 shards are required to beat the seed. Remember, Lich and Kary have two each, Kraken and Tiamat four each. Rich Seed, Poor Seed: Randomize Treasures is on, but vanilla wealth as well. Live, Die, Repeat: Save Game When Game Over is on, but Deads Gain XP is paired with it. Week 5: True Tests of Will
105: Spring Tournament 2021 Redux We revisit a flagset of the past, with some minor updates, to give you a feel for a true, competitive flagset. Free Canoe: It is danger. It is life. It is free. Random Incentives: ST 2021 was the first main tournament with random incentive locations as an option. It was also less robust of an option as it is now. We’re embracing the full random for each incentive location. Monster-In-A-Box: Also new to ST 2021 was the concept of monsters in boxes, which we’re stealing from the future via the time loop. Unlike ST 2021, for these flags we have the ability to see which chests have monsters and some control over what’s in those boxes and for this week, it’s trash. Note: this is the difference for the derby – it’ll be rare treasures there. A-Side and B-Side Tiles: Spike tiles will be interesting. Be the best mage you can be. A Shorter End-Game: Mid ToFR, with Two Paths, is on. Only 3 orbs (specific) are required. Spellcrafter: The new spellbooks are enabled, and old permissions are on to let you enjoy all the magic. Don't forget to hit the SuperStore. Early Overworld Options: Free Canoe and free Bridge enabled. White Mages Rock: Improved White Mage HARM and enable LIFE and SOFT in Battle are on. Week 6: The Road to Graduation
106: Winter Tournament 2024 Our traditional challenge for our new players, letting them experience the most recent competitive event in a practice setting. All Loose: Progression key items are found at random checks in the game. The only incentivized items are the TAIL and equipment, which will be found at fetch NPCs. Loose placement is Forward, which means key items will generally lead to other key items based on what they open. Shard Hunt: Collect 28 shards to access ToFR. Orbs are not specifically required, but are worth shards (Earth and Fire = 2, Water and Air = 4). Docks: Northern Docks and Bahamut Cardia Dock are on. WarMECH, Guardian of the Masamune: One marked chest will have everyone’s favorite robot and most everyone’s favorite sword. Not these heroes as they explore a labyrinthine maze within the world of familiar locations. No Overworld: The overworld has been removed, with all the dungeons and towns in the gave stitched together into one long maze. You'll have to find your way through. And if you do die, Save Game When Game Over is on. Item Magic: Randomized All Weapons Cast Spells, plus you get a few AoE casting item at the start of the game.
