The Duck Bootcamp is a series of streams, flagsets, and asynchronous weekly challenges to on-board new runners (Ducklings) into the FFR community in the 6 weeks prior to the seasonal Duck Derby.
The Duck Bootcamp is hosted by the Duck Don who will often enlist the help of prominent community members to assist with flag design, restreaming, and VOD review.
Weekly flagsets are broken into two groups: easier, basic training 100 Level classes, and more advanced, interesting flag option 200 Level classes. These are revealed on-stream, Sunday (100 Level) and Wednesday (200) evenings, usually with one community member running a seed alongside one or two commentators for the purpose of describing major features of the flagset, traps, tricks, and things to look out for. After the reveal stream, flags are made public for the Duckling Weekly asynchronous race on the FFR Discord, along with weekly, streamed races on Mondays (100 Level) and Thursdays (200 Level). VOD reviews are run on Fridays, based on submitted runs from the ducklings.
The Spring 2023 Bootcamp began March 26th and ran for six weeks. It was hosted by LuffyDV and Serisan, with additional assistance from Deadpulse, budgemano, and Wewbear. It featured the return of the Platy Party event during weeks 4, 5, and 6 of the bootcamp. Flags were archived here as they debuted in the bootcamp.
