Spring Bootcamp 2023: Flags and Videos
Week 0: Introduction to FFR
090: Vanilla-ish-ish A basic introduction to the game. The flags follow vanilla progression, but we have included the standard “quick play” improvements from the randomizer. Flags also introduce a few minor randomization optimizations to keep the game moving quickly and smoothly. Experience Scaling: Experience and Gold has been set to 2.5x Vanilla amounts, with a bonus 150 pts for each monster killed in battle. Class Improvements: Blursed classes are set to 1 Bonus, 0 Maluses. Check your bonuses on the character select screen by pressing “Select”. This will show you the one extra bonus each character will get. We've also turned off Unrunnables, and with the Thief's fixed Luck (in comparison to Vanilla), along with doubled Thief (and Ninja) Hit% growth, makes the Thief a more viable character. White Mage HARM, which makes HARM a damaging spell against all enemies (and not just the undead) when used by a White Mage, has also been turned on. Shuffled Spells: Magic in shops has been shuffled, ideally so that later game magic shows up earlier, making the early game easy to navigate. Blursed Weapons: Weapons have been set with a -3 to +5 range. When treasure is revealed in chests, the Damage, Hit%, and Crit will be shown. Week 1: Melee Week
101: Fighter's Class The fighter is a generalist melee with a broad ability to use equipment, great survivability, and good damage. Forced Fighter: No Black Belts allowed. You can freely pick the other 3 characters in the party. If you’re looking for general recommendations, two very common party compositions are FI/TH/WM/BM and FI/RM/WM/BM. Incentive Locations: Ice Cave, Ordeals, Marsh Cave, Titan’s Trove, Earth Cave, Volcano, Sky Palace	201: Go Ninja! The Ninja has been greatly improved by the randomizer, making them a solid melee choice. Week 2: Learning Strategy
102: It's Punching Time! It's all about the Black Belt as a melee carry. Get ready to charge up and throw hands. Forced Black Belt: where we’re going, we don’t need weapons. Boss HP Scaling: 200-300% means very tanky bosses, which means your punch machine will need to be big. Vanilla Spike Tile Locations: The EYE is the EYE tile in Ice Cave and the AGAMA is the AGAMA tile in Volcano. We know where we need to go to bring that Black Belt to the moon. Save Game When Game Over: Just a bit of safety for the grind.	202: Two Loose It's time to learn chest locations, and when key items can be lurking, in a flagset with so many items we don't know where to put all of them. Week 3: New Ways to Play
103: Floaterless We sailin’, fam. Class Improvements: Improved HARM for white mages, better thief agility (80). Lockpicking is turned off. Overworld Exploration: Removed Floater, so no airship. Walkable paths from Dwarf to Northwest Castle and from Lefein to Gaia, a canoe-able path from Dwarf to Melmond, and docks/rivers for Lefein/Gaia, Mirage, Onrac, and Cardia. Reduced Overworld Encounter Rate. Bahamut’s Hoard: All Cardia island chests are accessible from Bahamut’s cave and there’s an incentive item in the chest directly behind him. Patrolling WarMECH: There are no random WarMECHs, only a one-time optional patrolling WarMECH on Sky 4.	203: Chaos Rampage A fast, quick flagset where you start with the airship right outside Coneria and have to plan your route through the Four Fiends and on to Chaos. Party: 4 Forced (Guaranteed Melee, Guaranteed Mage), Blursed Classes (2 Bonuses 0 Maluses, includes Magic Bonuses). Thief Lockpicking (level 15), Improved White Mage HARM, Increase Weapon Elemental Bonus: 30 Overworld Exploration: 0 Loose. Free Airship, Free Canoe, Free Bridge, Free Canal, plus Free Lute and Free Tail. Lefein SuperStore. Shops include Caster & Elite Gear. End Game: Short, Unlocked ToFR. Week 4: Exploring the World
104: Entrance and Town Shuffle The world as you know it is all changed up. The map is the same, but all those entrances will lead to different areas. You'll have to find a new path through a seemingly changed world. Shuffled Entrances: The whole world is mixed up! Towns are still towns, non-towns are still non-towns. Short ToFR: A brief kindness. Random Incentives: Unlocked Sea with Mermaid Prison, Mirage, Pre-Rod Earth, Marsh No Early Sarda: You must kill the Vampire in Earth to get Sarda’s item. Random AoE Caster Item: You get a free item at the start. Check your weapons and armor to find out what it is. Generated Waterfall: The Waterfall has been procedurally generated to have a new layout.	204: Oops All Loose! All of the key items in the game are out, loose in the world, and can be found anywhere. You've gotta go find them! Class Improvements: Open Party Selection. Blursed Classes (3 Bonuses, 1 Malus, includes Magic Bonuses). Thief Lockpicking (level 15). Improved White Mage HARM. Week 5: Collect-a-Thon
105: Shard Hunt You do not need to light all 4 orbs to complete this seed. Open chests to find shards. Lighting the earth or fire orbs will give you 2 shards while water and air will give 4. Monster-In-A-Box: All chests containing shards will be guarded by a local formation. All of these chests are marked. Shuffled Fiends: The 4 elemental dungeons have their fiends shuffled. There are no duplicates (i.e. you won’t have 4 Krakens). Randomized Item Magic: Items that cast spells, such as the Heal Helm, are randomized to have different spells from the Curated spell pool. This is the most commonly used spell pool for tournaments.	205: E/F Shards It's time to explore the world to find those shards, but this time the world is all mixed up as well. Entrances don't lead where you expect, and the stairs are all confused as well. Get out those tracking sheets and start plotting out the world. Shard Hunt: 28 Required. Shards will be in unguarded chests, but you can also get two each from the Earth and Fire orbs and four each from the Water and Air orbs. Dungeon Exploration: Entrance and Floor Shuffle, Towns not included. Short ToFR with ToFR Exit. Refight All Fiends. Class Improvements: Open party with 2 Blessings, 0 Maluses (Including Innate Magic). Improved WM Harm. Thief Lock Picking at level 15. Weapon Elemental Bonus +30. Week 6: The Road to Graduation
106: 3 Orb Any A modified version of the Winter Tournament flagset to get you ready for what tournaments may throw at you. 3 Orb Any: Pick 3 fiend dungeons to complete to access ToFR. Any 3 will do. Free Canoe: Recreational activities abound at Camp Duck, but watch out for the fish. Docks! Northern Docks and Bahamut Cardia Dock are both enabled. 1 forced: Slot 1 of the party is locked onto whatever it rolls.	206: ProcGen Overworld And now the world really is brand new as we let the randomizer generate an entirely new Overworld to explore. ProcGen Overworld: A completely new overworld randomized by the game itself. Access requirements are shuffled as well, meaning changing even the vanilla flow of locations for the game. Starting Caster Item: A random AoE item will be dropped into the party's inventory at the start to aid in overworld exploration. Legendary Shops: Special shops will be hidden in certain dungeons and these will have special, rare gear for sale.
